The Lux Axis name comes from latin- Axis of Light. The cord & crystal resemble our world spinning on its axis, illuminated by the sun.
The braid allows the crystal to hang freely to move and spin. The prism gathers light, almost like taking a deep breath. Bending this light, the crystal's exhale transforms it– scattering microcosmic spectrums of color and glowing specks around the room.
The piece hangs from a hammered copper ring. These discs are also featured throughout the axis, forming quatrefoil shapes. The hand-woven yarn is braided in the Japanese 'kumihimo' technique.
